Crossover Date Has Arrived

There are several key dates during the often-complex process of passing legislation, and today, April 10, is one of them. Known as the “crossover date,” it is the date by which a bill must pass out of the chamber from which it started. If a bill starts in the House, it has pass out of the House by April 10. If a bill started in the Senate, it would need to pass out of the Senate by that same date.

Not a flattering term, it was a reference to President HW Bush’s reneging of the promise of “no new taxes!” That same year I sat in a DARE class, led by a Gainesville city police officer, and learned all about the dangers of cocaine, crystal meth, LSD, mushrooms and of course marijuana.

The Time to Take Action is NOW: CALL to ACTION!

We have made tremendous strides this year gaining support for a sensible and compassionate medical marijuana program. But we need your help. While the vast majority of South Carolinians support allowing medical marijuana, and despite strong support in the House, it’s not clear if Speaker of the House Jay Lucas will attempt to prevent a floor vote.

What’s Up at CSC? (Feb 2018)

As the legislative session is now in full swing we at CSC.health have been very busy educating the legislators on the importance of the passage of a comprehensive medical marijuana program. We are also setting in motion a campaign that will educate the state the medicinal value cannabis has to offer and that SC needs to allow doctors to have this option at their disposal for their patients.

Giving Tuesday and Holiday Fundraising Campaign

Occurring this year on November 28, #GivingTuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving (in the US) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday to kick off the holiday giving season and inspire people to collaborate in improving their local communities and to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.
